Drive Buffer Size Setting

Postby Guest on Sat Jun 19, 2004 7:26 pm

Hello

I have a quick question concerning Drive Buffer Size (Recorder, Settings, Drive tab, Drive Buffer Size slider).

Does it set the software cache size in RAM, or does it specify CD/DVD burner internal on-board cache size?

Since it goes all the way to 32MB I can only assume that it specify the amount of RAM DeepBurner will use for caching data (as I do not remember any hardware burner that had that much of memory).

Still I would appreciate an authoritative answer

Thanx

Meaning of buffer size

You probably don't read this answer anymore, but for the future user who will search the forum:

I just started using DeepBurner, and I wanted to know what buffer size exactly meant. It isn't in the manual, but I'm glad I found an answer in another post from an adminstrator:

Question:
I have a LG 48x24x48x16 drive with a 2mb buffer. In Deepburner the smallest buffer size is 4mb, why isn't 2mb listed? Will my drive work with Deepburner?

Answer:
You drive will work with deepburner. Buffer size is the sum of drive's buffer and a certain number of Mb of RAM assigned for burning.
