Not enough space on CD

Postby Jan-Marten on Sat May 29, 2004 12:30 pm

First of all, lets start with the specs:

Which Operating System you use:
WinXP pro, SP 1

Which version of DeepBurner you are using:
Version 1.1.0.117

What is the model of your CD/DVD drive:
Philips DVDRW824

Warning message:
Not nough space on CD (hey, a typo ;))
Do you really want to erase the disk?

Afther that, an error message appears:
There is no sufficient space on current media. Please change media or remove part of the date.

In the DVD-burner a DVD+RW is present. This disc should be capable to store 4.7 GB on it. I tried several times (100 MB till 4 GB) but it didn't work. Keep having that warning and error messages to appear. Even when I formatted the DVD+RW.

Here is the log (typed it over):
ASPI initialized

Seems that either your drive is not correctly recognized or something wrong with the CD. Have you already tried CD-RWs from other vendors?

I am facing the same problem. I have tried using Nero and that too is giving problems.... It doesn't let me click the burn button - greyed out!

Coming back to deepburner - Just like the original post, I have tried burning different data of different size on different discs too.... so it can't be the disc or the size of information!

Anyone have a solution?

Try increasing the buffer size setting to maximum in the options menu. Also make sure you are using a fresh blank disk. Once a disk is "used" and fails to write your project it is often no longer usable for anything else (a coaster).
