Try to increase buffer size under Recorder -> Settings -> Drive. Some times this helps.

Increasing the buffer size does not fix it..

Nor does changing the DVD-R to DVD+R or the dvd brand..

Nor does unchecking the "Initialize system ASPI first"..

Those 3 suggestions are the only ones that have been giving on this board to this "Drve not ready" error and basically none of them have helped so please only new suggestions and preferrably ones that fix the problem...

I've been using DeepBurner just fine for the past few weeks, constantly burning dvds and then out of nowhere it decides to give the "Drive not ready" message which is incredibly annoying.

Personally I will now install a different burning program to solve this problem. Oh well. Good luck to the rest of you who have this problem but I suggest don't bother going through these boards looking for a solution because the only ones being given are the ones above which don't seem to help..

I have the same problem and nothing works. My drive isn't the greatest, but it does have dvd burning capabilities (i've used it before). Help!
