Accessing data on DVD+DL

Postby bgirton on Sat May 03, 2008 1:19 pm

I seem to have succeeded in burning an 8 GB zip file to a DVD+DL. How do I get the data back off again? Windows Explorer is no help - the error message says "E:\ is not accessible. Incorrect function."

Dual Layer recording is not supported yet. Sometimes it works okay, but sometimes disks are unreadable after burning. You can try to burn at your own risk. Full Dual Layer support will be introduced in DeepBurner 2.0.

It's not as if Dual Layer DVD's are new or anything. I am a little confused, I guess as to why this feature would be left out especially since the product page says this:

"DeepBurner will be able to solve most of your burning needs: be it burning of Data/Audio/Video CDs, all types of DVDs, composing photo albums and even burning backups."

The lack of DL burning support has me skittering away very quickly towards CDBurnerXP.

DL support will be in DB 2.0.
