Long File Names

Postby amjam on Sun Sep 11, 2005 7:30 pm

The web site claims that DeepBurner "Supports Long File Name (Joliet) File Systems" and the help file claims "relaxed joliet restrictions (allows filenames up to 255 characters)".

Yet when writing files with names longer than 64 characters, DeepBurner offers either to truncate names to about 64 characters or remove the files?

What happened to the "relaxed joliet restrictions"?

This comment is relates to DeepBurner Free Portable version.

This feature hasn't been implemented into the Free version, yet.

Installed and tried the Pro version and still come up with the same choice when writing files which exceed the Joliet limitation of 64 characters - either truncate file names or remove them! What gives big 'un :?

This is another issue DB should work out. I usually burn anime videos with long file names and it's quite annoying that DB truncates all of them. I'm using the free version. I love this software, but if it continues to be like this, I'll be forced to look for another CD/DVD burning freeware. :(
